Title: Teanaway Bull Tag
Post by: fishunt247 on May 05, 2010, 08:09:20 PM
Does anyone know why on earth there isn't an early archery or early muzzleloader bull tag in the Teanaway? There are late permits for each weapon, but why not some early tags? This must be a recent change because wasn't the Thrope bull killed with an early archery tag? This just really seems strange to me.

Didn't you get the memo. The state is phasing out bowhunting :chuckle: :chuckle:

Its because they dont want people hunting up there interfering with the campers and berry pickers....  WDFW hates hunters.

They got rid of that tag the year after the Thorpe bull was shot(maybe 2 I can't remember). It sucks but you can still find some quality bulls in there for the late season. Just ask Rougheye.

I know there are some great bulls. Saw one that will be a really, really big bull this fall. Really big. I guess he was closer to his winter range than his Sept. range anyways. Seems wierd to have all late tags and no early tags besides one rifle. Pretty much every other unit is all early tags. Reason for all the late tags when quite a few of the elk are on private ground...who knows. OH ya, rougheye's bull is a giant. Congrats on that.
