What's a great arrow to use for hunting that won't break the bank?

you could get a million responses to this and get as many different answers. try huntersfriend.com. they have a thing called carbon university and it explains a lot about arrows. they also have a ton of arrows to choose from in varying price ranges and their pricing seems to be very competitive. my arrows arrived pre-cut, fletched, knocks/inserts/field tips installed. they also come with a sheet telling you what they weigh. ready to shoot out of the box.

I've used the Goldtips since they came out, most recently using the Goldtip Xt's at .003 straightness.  I've never seen a compelling reason to try a different arrow.  But there are a myriad of coices and probably none of them bad as long as stick with at least .006 straightness.

I liked the beeman ics hunters, They where great arrows to me. Tough as heck I shot one in to a double layer of lexan (3/8in) and it punched though it without a problem and the arrow was still good.

Think I might be switching to Beman after hearing all the good reviews. I just burned through a dozen Easton axis st's in the last 3 months. $89 sounds way better then $120.

I was shooting Beman ICS camo hunters but just switched to the Beman MFX team realtrees. I really like the MFX's and will be buying more. But if I was on a tight budget I'd buy more of the ICS camo hunters.

I have been spending a little extra on the Beman Ics hunter elites and I think the extra money for the extra straightness is worth it. Much easier to get my arrows perfectly spin tested with broadheads and I really see the difference helping friends who buy the regular hunter arrows. It is not much more money & you will have tighter groups. Mike

+1 for the gold tips. I have used carbon express maximas @ $125 per dozen, beman ICS, beman black Max and a few others. The Gold tips have been the toughest. My dad has put the same arrow thru 3 different bull elk and the arrow is still good. I am up to 2 bulls with one of my arrows. My dad and bothers use the xt's - I use the expeditions and both shoot great.
