i have a 270 wsm i was going to use for black bear. which bullets would you recommend to use. i have winchester silvertips but these are more of a deer round. im not sure how well they would work on bear. i have a 300 ultra mag as well but wanted to shoot the 270 in case i see any coyotes or bobcats any recommendations thanks. looking at electronic calls any recommendations are these legal for bobcats and bears. i know you can use them for yotes.

Electronic calls are legal for any predator.
Just not elk, deer, goat, big horn, or waterfowl/turkey.

It is legal to use a electronic call for elk.

13. Using decoys and calls:
It is illegal to hunt waterfowl, turkey, or deer
with the use or aid of electronic calls and
battery powered or other electronic devices as
decoys.
I just bought the Foxpro Spitfire and so far I am pretty impressed. There are better calls but the cost gets to high for me. I used a Cass Creek Powerhorn and a MP3 player for the last two years and it worked great.

i live out in lexington which is about 6 miles south of castle rock. ive seen alot of yotes and bear scat when im deer hunting so i figured its about time i do my part in controlling the population to help out those deer and elk i love to hunt. i will take a look at the foxpro spitfire thats the same one bear man ric suggested. this will also give me a good chance to use my two 12 gauges for coyotes as well. thanks

the silver tips are good bullets and i am shooting them threw a lot of my guns right now. they do have pretty good weight retention but like you i like a more solid bullet and when ever i am wanting that i always turn to my fave bullet the nosler partition

shot my spring bear with nosler accubonds. mine was out of a 300 win mag but the bullet did its job. droped in its tracks and destroyed the shoulder blade

You have one of the best bear rifles around.. I would not trade my .270 for anything.. I have used a 140gr hornaday boattail for 30 years now and have taken 21 bear to date and all have come from a .270 . I have shot everyone in the shoulders and the results are always the same (deadly) .270 was made for the 130 gr but threw all my years shooting 1000's of rounds the 140 hornaday is the best.. It does'nt matter if he is 10' or at 500yds it all has to do with bullet placement... MY opinion I will put the .270 up to any cal. out there..

I love my .270 and it loves 130 grns.
