I have a general question about outfitters and guiding services, why is it when someone references an outfitter or guide they do not give a "review" of their experiences here in this site for all to see instead of PMing the info?
That seems pretty common on here?
-
most of the time it is just posted, if it was a good experience they will just post it. but some people will not just post bad things for everyone to see they would rather be polite and pm them with the info on what happened to them and etc. that is what i have seen, but i don't know if that is always why it is done that way :dunno:

NWWABOWHNTR and his group had a not so great experience with an outfitter. He is not the type of person to publicly air dirty laundry. But word of mouth is a very powerfull advertiser, good or bad. I would not use or recommend them from the stories of the drop camp coming down the mountain. But choices are limited in that area. Hopefully the outfitter sees these threads and does a little QA. Or maybe he was just having a bad week. Who knows.

you get alot more outa the hunt doin it yourself, those drop camps can really ruin the area

Matt,
You nailed it on the head, you have heard the stories of our trip. I have sent PM's to everyone who has asked, and will let those make up their minds. Just one word of caution, ask for references and be very specific when dealing with the packer. My groups experience may be just an isolated case, thanks.

That is what I was thinking as well.
Thanks for all the info

Tonymoe on here might know of someone or have some ideas?
just thinking...
-
yeah he spends a lot of time back in there keeping tabs on the goats and such
-
guides and outfitters like to get feedback too both good and bad as long as it's constructive so that they can try to remedy the problem for the future. They may not be aware that they are doing something to make the customers unhappy. :twocents:
