Title: Coyote Hunting Competition June 12-13
Post by: bearpaw on June 07, 2010, 05:59:36 PM: The Colville Chapter of NWTF is sponsoring the 1st Annual NE Washington Coyote Hunting Competition on June 12-13.

Join our club and sign up by 4 am June 12 to compete in the coyote hunting competition. Grand prize is a Remington VTR Varmint Rifle awarded by a rafle of that includes all contestants. There will also be cash prizes for the most successful 2-Man Teams.

There will also be an Ultimate Shooting Event at the Colville Gun Club on June 13, the same place you turn in the coyotes.

Just wish I knew that country up there....it would be fun. Need to have one a few hours south of there. Great way to increase membership and have a good time. I really like this rule:

16. In the event of a tie, a 5 Shot off-hand rifle shooting competition will be used to determine the winner.

The Remington VTR is by raffle. Every entry in the contest gets one chance, then you get an additional chance in the raffle for each coyote taken by your 2-man team.

There is tons of public land that has coyotes everywhere, just get a forest map and go, will be glad to recommend areas, we want as many coyotes to be taken as possible. Landowners are pretty friendly to the idea of taking coyotes too.

Question is to travel on a derby (which I've never done one outside of this forum) or do something with my wife for our 7th wedding anniversary? :chuckle:

Everyone who enters has one chance at this rifle raffle and you get an additional chance for each coyote you kill. But every entry gets at least one chance at the gun.

Post by: bearpaw on June 14, 2010, 04:23:30 PM: I was wrong earlier, we had 5 teams coyote hunting, 2 coyotes were taken by the winning team, 4 coyotes total, and Jeff Linn won the drawing for the Remington VTR Varmint Rifle. We had somewhere between 70 to 100 people show up for the shooting competitions, a few didn't sign our guest sheet and left after shooting some of the free events. Haven't done the bookkeeping yet, but it's about a break-even, which is fine for the first time we held the event.

The main goal was to get participation, not to make money.

A WDFW Wildlife Commissioner stopped by and visited with everyone, and the Remington rep says we will do it again, they considered it a big success. :)
