procedure open top of speed loader - dump powder. flip it over and use ramrod to push bullet and sabot down through plastic speed loader. make sure bullet is seated, cap, take aim, fire and repeat.
I put 5 - 6 speed loaders in a shotgun shell holder on the stock, and all the accessories including, cleaning jag, patches, lube, cleaning solvent, tools, extra breech plug and nipple, powder, and bullets, and such in my day pack. More powder and bullets included in this mess, because as i typically lose a speed loader or two through out the season.
disclosure - speed loaders and muzzleloaders need to be unloaded and cleaned frequently as they collect condensation, and moisture from outside, and sometimes will end up with wet powder and no - "boom"

speed loaders I referenced. Bullet goes in the bottom, acting like a plug. Powder in the top with flap closed.

a few companies make speed loaders for muzzle loaders. Typically one speed loader carries bullet, pre-measured powder, and cap. I don't put the cap in mine as I carry a thompson center speed capper around my neck or in my pocket.

This is the same way I do my follow up reloading but instead of having it on my stock, I just have them hanging at my hip. All my stuff is premeasured and ready to roll. My old man and I shot alot at the range to get ready but if you have a place where you can go shoot by yourself I would recommend doing that so you can practice shooting, then trying to reload quickly for a follow up shot. Word of advice though, muzzleloaders get dirty quickly so be ready to clean it after every shot or two. :twocents:

Many of the turkey vests that are being sold would work well too. I've found jackets and shirts just normally don't have enough pockets, and if you put your stuff in a fanny pack or day pack, it won't be easily accessible.

I carry more speed loaders than I need!! Typically I have about 10 of them on me, but I keep 8 in my vest, a few in my pant cargo pocket, and a few in my jacket pocket. I also always keep them in a zip lock bag. In my vest I also have everything I need to take the rifle down just in case I do something stupid such as load the bullet with no powder. Having the tools with you can save you a trip to the truck when your in the hills a ways.
My bullet stater is in an easy to get to pocket and I always have one or two extra capers just in case I loose one or all my caps fall out for some reason. Anything that you want to keep dry, speed loaders, capers, caps, TP, keep in a zip lock bag! It sucks when nature calls and all your TP is wet.
Because I carry so many speed loader, I keep a small ammo box in my truck where I have an extra pound of powder, typically 200-400 more caps and all my extra bullets along with a cleaning rod and stuff to clean my rifle. Always have a can of Rem-oil in my ammo box as well, I wipe my gun down about 3 times a day when its wet out, and I have the wipes which come in little pouches in my vest in case I'm away from my truck.
I've used the speed loader you had posted above but don't like it. I use the TC 4 in 1 mag speed loader for it separates the powder from the bullet so you don't loose grains of power that will trap themselves against the bullet. It also holds an extra cap and can hold the 209 primers which we cant use. They are a bit more pricey but well worth it!! If your loading less than 100 grains of powder there are red ones for .50 and blue for .54 which are a tad smaller, but the black ones are the way to go if your loading more than 100 grains of powder.

I truly think the turkey vest is the way to go, and after I started wearing one, all of my hunting buddies started to do the same, it's just much more convenient and has soooooo much room
