we are moving to washington next summer.we are fairly new to waterfowling. only been hunting 3 years.we would like some advice on hunting areas as we will be looking to live in the areas that offer the best waterfowling.any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

There are alot of factors to think about. Are you planning on living on the east or westside of the state? What kind of waterfowling do you want to do? How serious are you about hunting?
-
we hunt every weekend of the season.kinda thinking the east side. we hunt mostly thr river here in colorado as we have no where else here on the eastern plains.we eat sleep and drink waterfowling year round at our house and can't wait bto do it out there.

Should be able to ask some of the ducks unlimited members and maybe they can help you out.
-
you might check out the tri cities area

www.wdfw.wa.gov (http://www.wdfw.wa.gov) and click on the Go Hunt! tab. It should help you out. On the eastside, probably to most popular spot are the Potholes near Moses Lake. Good Luck

Tri cities or moseslake

I agree with the above posts. I would check out the Columbia Basin. That is where I do most my hunting and there are tons of places to go. You can hunt everything from the Columbia river to little pothole ponds in the middle of sage flats.

If you hunted the river in Colorado. There is the Columbia River which in some places has tons of puddle ducks... then in other areas tons of diver ducks... and if you are lucky you can get both!

thank you all for your suggestions. we hope to be out there next june and chasing ducks next season.

I agree and also research the WDFW website. On another post you asked about the WA Waterfowl Association: http://www.waduck.org/ (http://www.waduck.org/)

Eastside has some great duck hunting. Sage ponds, wasteways, creeks, rivers, ag fields, you name it we got it. Crowds are kind of a problem though.
