flack, we were easy on you :chuckle: there is deer around and there are some blacktails/mule deer/bench legs/whitetail in the klickitat unit and we i did say whietail as well. i am sure he will be a dandy buck. but there are deer around and many diffrent types to boot.

I know the deer are there... I was up there four three hours and saw about thirty deer... Didnt even beat the feet... All mostly within Rock throwin distance.. They tend to hide during "ROAD-hunting season, I believe thats what they call it now .. Lol.. It sure has changed up there though since i last stepped foot.. Alot of no trespassing signs ( every 10-20 ft. ) on both sides of the road.. New clearcuts and the clearing of the Road (brewer) on both side for about a quarter mile... It was almost sad to see what they did up there with the logging and what not.. But life goes on... My spots are still hot and the deer havent moved.. Atleast one thing has stayed the same as I remembered...

Its that way all over Mark. Change mostly SUCKS, and I'm not even talking Obama.
That buck is going to be a nice bench.
-
Will be a nice buck!!!
-
You can call it a bench or what not but i dont care what anyone says, Ive never seen a mulie up there.. Ive seen em in the eastern part of the county but never in the western tip... Little ears+Smaller body sizes+Blacktail from back to ass= Blacktail to me.. Im sure this will probly antagonize people to argue the point but we all have our beliefs.. hahahhahah.. :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot:

They must still taste like deer and have horns and thats what counts.

I don't think any one said there "wasn't" deer in the Klickitat. I spend 3 day's a week on the Mt. which is Yakima county but Klickitat game unit. I know were they are and you can find the big bear, deer, elk and cats if you know where to go. In the spring around here you find tons of deer. Mainly they are migrating. Come fall, after they've been pushed a bit, good luck on seeing that many deer. We pack in about 8 miles to elk camp. (horses)

Ive never even seen an elk up there.. Ive heard stories of big herds roaming around the rattlesnake and what not.. Or old timers saying they saw a couple a bulls together during deer season.. We actually got warned by a lady we stopped and talked to about the cats.. Guess they seem to be having a problem with em up there... Im actually more closer to west klickitat/Grayback boundry than anything else.. Up by the Bird farm off fisher mill..
-
Not a lot of public land up near the bird farm, its all private hunting club. Got to come farther north toward camp 7. There are deer but its all walk in only. Hancock owns most of the land up on the Platue. Last year the week after season closed we saw a nice 4 point up that way. I don't hunt up that way at all, to many people.

Camp 7?? doesnt sound familiar... I know alot of the roads up top are all fenced off.. The hoarders that stay at the old woodruff mill put a dam gate on the backside of brewer.. so now its a little bit of a detour.. Things do look alot different up there..

Nice Benchleg. Go gettem!
