depends on section of river, and when fish are showing up some years they show in great numbers early some years they are a little late. I am sure u will be fishing the lower, should have a good time

Fished the river a few times last fall. I personally didn't do very good, but I know of a few people that did very well. That should be a good time to get down there.

I've been doing it for years and early October can be fantastic or frustrating, it all depends on the weather in the weeks before you go. I don't know Mike or Dennis but have heard good things. I'm sure they will get you in to fish if the fish are there. Do you know which section you will be floating? I may see you down there. Here's a few pics of the canyon below Bogan's.

Ya, I cant wait for the trip. I will be bow hunting deer in sept the this in Oct, then off to Montana in Nov for Deer/Elk, Should be a good year.
Mike is a buddy. Im actually paying him for this one due to the popular demands of the trip.
I love to swing streamers. but the dries should be a kick. I will have to train myself to wait to set the hook on that top water action.

Living here in Clarkston I get the chance to fish it quite a bit. Most of what I was going to say has already been said by the others. You'll enjoy it a lot! Beautiful river, great fishing, and not too crowded.
Love the pics....I think I've stood in every one of those spots more than once.

Whats the method used most. Swingin streamers or dry fly.
Im so used to swinging streamer for the winter coastal steelhead.

Maybe you should just donate the trip to the website to be raffled off.

Water temps are usually still high enough to swing/skate flies.
You will probably pick p more fish by nymphing egg patterns, stone fly ( try blue) nymphs, string leeches.
I have had some epic days there in Oct fishing.
