Well my dad finally drew a peaches rifle elk tag and needs some help on areas to scout and any other info that could be usefull. he drew the late Oct- 1st week of Nov. Thanks guys.

You will have no problem finding elk there. Just get out and poke around and you'll find them. Thats about all I can recommend.

Tons of elk in there, but by that time the bulls are off hiding on their own. It really isn't a slam dunk to kill a big bull. You will definitely see a lot of elk, and should be able to kill a nice one if you put in the time. There are elk spread all over the little naches, so I would just head out and scout around.

I here a lot of guys with rifle tags Talking about scouting for a bull now. First of all congrats on drawing , second my experiance is the bulls will be no where near the area you find them now come the end off oct. both peaches and observitory get a ton of preasure , I'd only scout to find good elk travel areas come oct. don't get discouraged on what you find in july there will be plenty off elk running around with white flags out and tongues draging in oct. Please try to respect the earlyer hunters by not bumping and buggling at every elk in the units :twocents:

Well said coach, "respect the earlier hunters, don't run around bugling", especially from a road. No need to make them any smarter. Like being said, expect to find them in the steep and deep hiding places. Last year with my peaches tag, we were MILES back in behind the gates and away from roads, and we were seeing bulls almost every day. Just couldn't get one in bow range without a tree in the way. Good luck.
