Title: Leupold 3x9 or buckmaster 4x12?
Post by: andytoshif on June 23, 2010, 04:46:45 PM
They're the same price. I really prefer leupold, so my question is: for dryland yotes, do I really need more than 9-power magnification? From reading it looks like the light transmission is the same--the difference is magnification vs. warranty.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

my personal preference would be the 4-12x scope especially if youre hunting the wide open of the dry side. reason is just to be able to reach out and touch one that hangs up at 400+ yds a little bit easier

I would go with leupold. They are very tough but if something ever did happen leupold would either fix it or replace it for free.

Pentax 4.5-14 is what I'd go for. You can snag one on eBay pretty cheap and new.
