Title: Coyotes
Post by: Ray on March 01, 2008, 07:36:24 PM: No coyotes yesterday or today. Gosh it was like a ghost town on the Yakima Firing Center. Only one badger, magpies and other birds. Didn't even hear one dog howl. Will try the "other" spot next time. Had a great day either way.

JDB picked up a skull which I have in the front window of my truck now 8) New ornament looks great. Looking to toast some rounds off next time.

I'd like to get ahold of a nice badger for a display mount. ;)

Post by: boneaddict on March 01, 2008, 09:08:21 PM: Should have been with me today. I saw five of them over in the ephrata/Banks lake area. Only two were paired up, and I could have got them both. All 5 were easykills. One was standing out in the middle of Banks lake on the ice. That one might have been hard to pick up. I swear those *censored*s know when you are packing and when you aren't.

I they are not legal to shoot here, Page 61 of the regs.

Thanks, I bet it does. Most skulls are cool anyway, I think. Are those dark spots pellet holes on it?

Post by: boneaddict on March 03, 2008, 12:12:53 PM: I ran into a badger last year while shed hunting. I had a 5 point elk antler in my hand and had him in the open. I was going to take him. Then I remembered the video tape of the badger kicking a grizzlys ass and thought better of it. His fur was starting to shed anyway at closer observation. He walked within 10 feet. Sometimes I wish you could rewind life as that would have been interesting to see how that would have turned out. :chuckle: I think he would havve handed me my sack back without the testes.
