Title: Idaho Unit 14 Mule deer
Post by: hunter-4-life on June 28, 2010, 09:23:52 AM
So we just found out that my wife had drawn unit 14 for mule deer. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that can help shoot me some tips about this particlular hunt. Also if you have a harvested deer from that unit it would be cool to see. thanks for any help.

I have never hunted the unit but i have been in the unit a couple of times.  Really cool country.  Tall and open.  If you want to kill a big buck I think I would try and hunt the wilderness area.  But I don't know if your wife would be up for that kind of hunt?  I don't think you should have any problems killing a decent buck if you don't want to hunt the wilderness area thou.  If it was me I would hunt the last week of the season.

Yeah well she is working to prepare herself for this hunt. We have permission on a 4500 acre ranch along the breaks of the salmon river. So we will start to scout that first and see what it hold before moving on to the wilderness.
