Title: ruttin hard
Post by: boneaddict on July 07, 2010, 06:55:30 PM
There is a chukar running all over the place, chasing the Quail FRANTICALLY, pounding on them.  So I was sitting here and I whistled at him.  Here he come.  He was going to kick my a$$.    :chuckle:   If I was more motivated I'd have taken some pics, but I have to laugh.  HE IS RUTTED UP.

This crazy spring has all the birds backwards.

He's like a star running back, lowers his head and drops a shoulder and charges straight ahead.  NON-STOP.

I was thinking about turning a couple of my roosters(chicken) out, but he'd probably thump them.

That is great Bone. Those chukar are not to be messed with  :bdid:. The males can really get mean at the right time of year. Lost more then a couple males over the years when one got a wild hair when I was at work. All was good for weeks until one day. I am sure you too have seen the drill. Those little suckers can really do some damage.
One of the old guys I used to work with would refer to that activity as a a"case of the horns". He started a lot of stories with "I had a case of the horns one time...." :chuckle: :chuckle:

 :chuckle:  Thats funny.

They can hold their own in a fight too.  I've lost a couple nice pheasants before I figured out the culprit.  I am a little smarter now.

That would have been quite a sight to see.
