Buddy of mine took this pic today of an absolute monster bull. What do you think he scores?
-
 He scores...... 1 million, and maybe an 1/8th. :chuckle:
-
I need some side shots. Probably 450+ :chuckle: I cant beleive the spider bull came clear up here to breed ;)
-
:yike: alot, nice bull
-
He would score enough for me to build a house around him! I am assuming that is Hanford?
-
Here we go again. Who has the governors tag this year.
-
Wow, looks like he may have some nuclear growth.
-
Holy chit! :o
-
-
has to be a hanford bull, or atleast that area. Would do anything to get a chance to hunt out there
-
he has a-lot of junk in the trunk. i agree probably hanford.
-
That's a huge bull
-
I can't count that high. Wow!
-
Taking a closer look, I see a spike that someone photoshopped massive antlers on. :yike:
-

There is the side veiw in this thread! Caribou Bull!
-
charlie you spend too much time on here. thanks. :chuckle:
-
that poor guy must have run through some low hanging limbs and got a couple stuck to his head.
-
Tritium = big rack :P
-
Big Bull but from the side view it looks like it has alot of short tines? Still impres :bow:sive
-
The fact I live next to this thing makes me quiver.....
-
After looking at it for a third time, it is definitely a Nooksack bull. I can tell by the surrounding area. :sas:
-
There are some ungodly mule deer out there as well. Back in the day, I watched some helicopter footage as theytook down a couple bucks for study. UNREAL They don't take to kindly to large white lens' out there though.
-
The fact I live next to this thing makes me quiver.....
I know... So close, yet so far
-
I see a spike also with some photoshop skills. The eyeguards don't come out like the should.
-
:o Thats a monster  Is it a hanford bull?
-
The fact I live next to this thing makes me quiver.....
thats just the radiation talking...
;)
-
That could be the truth. THe other interesting thing is how these critters can hide out there. It doesn't look like much, but a whole herd can disappear in the scrub.....
-
My cousin worked out there about ten years ago doing some research on "radiation near the elk and deer habitat."(Which was everywhere out there pretty much) he said there were multiple bulls in the 380-400 inch range out there and also multiple 32"+ wide bucks out there as well. Man I would have loved to have that job. The sad part was he doesn't even hunt and didn't enjoy the job and moved on to another job a couple years later. :bash: That was back when that famouse bull was alive out there, what was his name.
-
horn porn pure and simple
-
:yike: thats a giant! the dont get much bigger then that guy! Holy $hit
-
Great bull for sure! I did like WEEHUNT's staging of the Handy Manny toy on the first couple of shots with the bino's :chuckle:
-
you will never ever see a bull like that in the blues ;) on another note, and not trying to thread jack, but bear asked who has the governor's tag. i was told the other day that Agnew bought it again 8)
-
Giant Bull! Hope he is taken by a honerable hunter.
-
Giant Bull! Hope he is taken by a honerable hunter.
i don't think this one is gonna be taken by a hunter ;) he's retired. lol gonna die old. :) he's in the ultamate elk retirement resort. :chuckle:
-
Shoutout to WEEhunt for postin the pics first and givin multiple pics of this great animal, appreciate it, very cool animal, now show me where this thing is and ill post some even BETTER pics of him on my wall ; )
-
His 9-nth's are a little weak.
-
wow...thats a great bull
-
-What a FREAK :yike: That is Unreal!!!
-
Must be a grandson of "Brutus"
-
I see a spike also with some photoshop skills. The eyeguards don't come out like the should.
:yeah: :dunno:
-
Here we go AGAIN with the photoshop claims, geeeez
-
Taking a closer look, I see a spike that someone photoshopped massive antlers on. :yike:
It kind of does look that way doesn't it.
-
i would probably give him another year, see if he gets a little more mass. :chuckle:
-
the more i look at it, the more it does look like a spike with big antlers put on it
-
I don't think it is photoshopped. With all that trash, his antlers are gonna grow a little screwey. I am pretty sure that is the monster bull that showed up on about 4 threads here about this time last year. He just added some mass and trash...
-
Here's your spike with the antlers photoshopped in last year about this time.

The bull in the second photo is dead, got killed last year on the private land that borders hanford. He did loose the g-7's, they were bumps, but had 60 inch main beams. That caribou bull got real lucky a couple years ago , if he messes up again he will be a dead bull ;)
The front bull in the third picture is dead also (8x7), killed on the smae private land.
-
That's the bull I was talking about. Sounds like Bucklucky is pretty sure that he's dead though. I was thinking it was the same bull because of his G1s (one crooked, one straight). maybe it's one of his kids though... :dunno:
-
I was talking about the bulls in that last link that Jackalope posted, that 8x8 and the 8x7.
-
Oh, OK. I didn't click on that thread til just now. Now I am back to thinking that it is the monster under the tree. G1's are the same... :dunno:
-
Ya Im sure its the same bull. There are definately guys paying good money for landowner tags to kill that bull.
-
Ya Im sure its the same bull. There are definately guys paying good money for landowner tags to kill that bull.
What does a tag like that run?
-

AROUND $5,000 AND UP
-
Last I was told 5,000 +
-
OOps, posted at the same time :chuckle:
-
ya he has pretty weak 10th and 11ths... :chuckle: Man they sure dont get much nicer then that.. what a monster..
-
He is a monster, I can see how someone might think it is a photoshop pic, from the front on pic he does look like a spike with antlers added on, however the side view shows that he has a body like a horse, way to big to be a spike. I would take him photo shopped or not
-
Even if it is photoshopped with antlers added to a spike (the bull doesn't look like a spike at all, and doesn't look photoshopped), those "added" horns still have to come from an elk (unless someone drew them somehow and then added them). That would mean that the real bull is what, a 10X11 instead of a 11x12? This ignores the fact that the original horns would have G-1s, which would have to be removed in the original photoshop (otherwise you'd have double G-1s).
-
To those of u who think its photoshoppe, there's a quote for u; "those of you who think u know everything, annoy us that really do" ; ) TRUST me, its NOT photoshopped, beautiful animal
-

I CAN DEFINATELY SAY THAT IT IS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED, I'VE SEEN A COUPLE OF BULLS OUT IN HANFORD, NOT THE SAME ONES, BUT THEY WERE PRETTY DAMN CLOSE TO THAT SIZE

Concerning the bull in last year's photo, several people on this site have seen him in the flesh. He's real, and it looks like he grew for another year and he's back...
-
That is an impressive bull, Norse.
You going after him this year ;)
-
yeah, he's been coming into the wallow I'm gonna hunt. I'm hoping he fills out his rack before the season, though, he looks a little weak on the backs. :chuckle:
-

Some times you just have to settle for what you can get......
:archery_smiley:
-
I'll probably wait till the last day or two before I'd shoot him. :IBCOOL:
-
:chuckle:
-
Really is a shame a chickensh*t ex-director authorized those landowner permits for sale to the highest bidder, for a little bit of BS wheat damage ...
-
good lord i almost fell over! that thing is a MONSTER!
-
I believe a monster like that shouldn't go to the highest bidder how about a raffle tag or something ? If there gonna give out landowner tags every one should get a chance since they don't own the game.
-
If I was the land owner I am not sure if I would sell the tag or smoke that monster myself.
-
:yeah:
-

Same here!!!!
-

I'm sure what I would do, and it wouldn't involve selling the tag!
-
Just read where the 2008 Dayton bull (436 4/8 net) was named #11 all-time non-typical at recent B&C Awards Program in Reno.
-
that's incorrect. there are no elk in the blues. that was toutle
-
I live in Richland, and can attest that the image is almost certainly from the Hanford site. The image is looking SW toward Rattlesnake Mountain. From the power lines in the image and the RR X-ing, it may have been taken from a location on or near Route 2 South, north of the Wye-Barricade. It is likely near the old Hanford Township, an area of roads where once a small city stood. Translated: Lookie-loos don't get to drive up to this location without a security badge. Mind you, mine is only a rough guess (having not been in that area for some years, but it could be about here: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Kennewick,+Benton,+Washington&ll=46.581312,-119.397526&spn=0.017108,0.036349&t=h&z=15 (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Kennewick,+Benton,+Washington&ll=46.581312,-119.397526&spn=0.017108,0.036349&t=h&z=15)
-
I thought that was gable mtn in the background???
-
Ivar, damn ur good! Cuz I thought that was mt rainier for a sec
-
Nope, not Hanford or the blue mountain foothills. Definately the mudflows between the Margret and Toutle :chuckle:
-
I think he is headed for the west side, maybe the Ryderwood unit or Lincoln, someplace where no governors tag holder would think to look.
-
well guys I have another cool hanford pic for you. My dad said that his co worker took this picture. Don't know if he actually did, but I wouldn't doubt it.

A few years back (more than 10), the WSU TriCities hosted a display of shed antlers from one tagged bull, given the name Melvin. You can Google him and find a few links. One source said he had antlers that measured 53" long at one time. The display showed how his antlers grew in stature over the years, and waned as he neared his end. He died in 1996. One set *may* still be on display at the CREHST museum in Richland. He was on display there in January 2010, but I don't know if he's part of a permanent exhibit. I didn't find any pictures to share.

"The Magnificent Seven"
-
Not to rain on your parade but brutus and the rest of the stories out there aint no secret, most peeps know
-
kinda funny how so many people think they know where the biggest bull in the state is the biggest bulls are not next to a road where everyone can see them and take a picture of them
-
kinda funny how so many people think they know where the biggest bull in the state is the biggest bulls are not next to a road where everyone can see them and take a picture of them
The biggest bulls in the state are where you find them, whether its along a freeway , someones back yard or 10 miles in on foot in the middle of a wilderness area. Or maybee they are on some body elses wall already (Thorpe, Agnew, Gunnier ) to name a few ;)
-
I agree with bucklucky, "wherever u find em'"

WOW- Just looked this up....
-
kinda funny how so many people think they know where the biggest bull in the state is the biggest bulls are not next to a road where everyone can see them and take a picture of them
Why not? they don't get shot at, chased on four wheelers, no hikers are jumping them out of their beds, etc. etc. Pretty close to a "high fence" resort for these elk. How many pics of 400"+ elk do you have from this state? If any, where were they taken? I haven't ever seen a bull even close to the size of that guy and I spend alot of time "not next to the road"
-
well one of my hunting partners has the number one archery bull inthe state and another has the number one muzzloader in the state including the world these are roosevelt elk that is where you have to know how to really hunt.one scored 363 and the other 412
-
dang, you have good hunting partners  :chuckle:
-
maybe rocky mountain not roosevelts
-
is one of those guys Jim Pecola?
-
no but that guy is a killing machine he has killed a lot of bulls in the books i would like to know where he hunts,i have some what of an idea.
-
I think the number one WA archery bull came out of the Teanaway in 2003 that scored 424.
-
im talkin roosevelt not rocky mountain
-
fish and game have been trying to get the department of interior to OK an elk hunt on hanford for a while now, they offered them many studies given by biologist, and the department of ecology but to no avail. The dept of the interior says the land is to pristine to let people walk around on it??? Even the hunt manager disagrees with them and would love to get a few of us out there hunting, he would like to see 10 tags for that area. Maby some day.
-

Is this one or both of these guys from Shelton? These bulls must have been taken within the past few years or just another newby talking big. Forget about your "partners" what have you killed?
-
has to be a hanford bull, or atleast that area. Would do anything to get a chance to hunt out there
really now.. anything? haha

OK....so you know somebody that killed a big bull, cool. WHY wouldn't the biggest bull in the state be on Hanford again? :dunno: Of all the die hards on this site I haven't heard one person doubt that this bull might be the biggest in Washington...oh, except you. What makes you doubt it? any evidence of a bigger bull? By the way, the bull in question is WAY bigger than 412"
-
I just like the "where u really have to know how to hunt" part lol, maybe he could tell us or better yet SHOW us how to hunt? Lol child please
-
I'd guess top 10 bull that is currently alive in the world.... (free range)
-
Ya that was funny. I grew up hunting Roosies and dont find them any tougher to hunt than Rockies. Highly pressured rockies act just like highly pressured Roosies, Low pressured Roosies act just like low pressured Rockies. Elk are Elk , just have to know how to hunt them or get lucky. Its always nice to be lucky!
I just like the "where u really have to know how to hunt" part lol, maybe he could tell us or better yet SHOW us how to hunt? Lol child please
-
Was the "412" bull done up by a certain taxidermist in Shelton that has been making replicas of the antlers?
-
Dave?
-
i still think it's a photoshopped Spike. look closely

Oh geeeeez here we go again

A Roosevelt 412? That's impressive, since the Boone & Crockett world record Roosevelt is 404 6/8.
I guess that would be make it a pretty big "bull" story".
-
hey bucklucky, I heard from a friend's, dad's, brother's, uncle's, sister who knows a guy who drove by hanford once and he said that he saw a bull that would easily go over 600". He's gonna email me the picture, but I bet it's photoshopped too! :chuckle:
-
i still think it's a photoshopped Spike. look closely
no its real,if ya look real hard,Im in the background hills, glassing that bad boy.. :chuckle:

Here is the reason for their aversion to a Hanford hunt-

Some choice quotes:
"So far, their research finds crust is fairly resilient to periodic spraying, but it doesn't do so well say when it's stepped on. You see, to get good crust it has to grow for centuries."
"On our way back to the truck she winces with every hop-scotch step.'Walk soft,' she said. It's hard to walk any other way, once you've seen up close what's under foot."
That's right, folks. Seems like PETA has a new branch - PETARD. People for the Ethical Treatment And Respect for Dirt.
-
All photoshopped!!
In Alchase's world bulls that big are a "pigment" of my imagination! :ACRY:
Seriously, there is just something about a +400 double droptine bull that just makes me all light headed.......just can't figure out why :dunno:
-
kinda funny how so many people think they know where the biggest bull in the state is the biggest bulls are not next to a road where everyone can see them and take a picture of them

you must know the best elk hunters in the world. are you Chuck Adams?

The TriCity Herald has a photo spread on the Hanford Reach National Monument. Here are a couple of pics:

That story about the desert crust being protected by restricting human foot traffic is just bull (and I don't mean elk). There are or were at least 700 elk on the nuclear reservation, and they are tromping the *censored* out of that desert crust. Maybe one could calculate how many hunter-hiking-miles it would take to equal the "destruction" caused by one (nice bull, yum) elk. Maybe we could justify an elk hunt "to preserve the desert crust". Just call me crusty...
-
This could mean a come back of the famous moon boots,
-
A buddy of mine works there and told me this weekend that there is one of the biggest non-typical bulls the state has ever recorded in there.
-
Lol can we stop with the "a buddy of mine and "I know somebody" claims! Lol I'm sure a lot of us on the site know of somebody out there at the "area", I wanna know what boneaddict thinks he would score?
-
:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
