Had the camera out for a week and had over 1100 pictures here are a couple of the nicer bulls so far. The big boys have not come in yet
-
Nice are you going to hunt from that cell tower?
-
Its actually a powerline so I probably won't do much hunting from it.
-
The powerline runs thru the back half of my dads property which is surrounded by national forest land - the elk spend most of their time on the national forest land so that is where we hunt the most.
-
I like it keep posting them I hope the big ones come through! :hello:

Nice bulls did you have a plant or tree setting off your cam? 1100 pics seems to be a lot of pics.

Not if your in a high travel area I was getting upwards of 400 a day finally had to turn my camera pics down so it would wait a minute between pics that might be what he has going on!
-
There were a couple does and cows that were spending alot of time there with their little ones - camera is also set on 3 shot burst with 1 minute delay. Lots of critters but there were some pics of nothing.
-
I am thinking that I may want to rethink the 3-shot burst thing. I have another camera up there that is fairly deep into the national forest also set to 3-shot burst - with 4 gig card it will hold about 7600 pics. I was planning on leaving that cam till end of august but I am not sure if that is enough pics. It will probably fill up long before then.... its in a much more active spot than where this cam is setup. I might have to send the old man up to change the settings on that one since I am not going to make it back up there until end of august.
-
ok that makes more sense, I thought you were on a 1 burst pattern. i put mine at 1 shot, and just assume everyone else does. SOrry bro!
-
no problem - from the looks of things I should have mine set on single shot mode
-
what do you use to slow them down? I use apples/ pears for a short soak, and salt licks for long soaks.

Those look like "big boys" to me. If those are small for where you are at i can't wait to see the big bulls.

last year there were a couple of bulls we hunted in there that were in about the 340 range (so no records but a fair bit bigger than these guys) - got real close a couple of times just no shots. I would like to see what they are this year
