Does anyone know where a guy could get his hands on some of the original Barnes X Bullets..the XBTs.
I am asking for my dad, he doesnt want to re-work up a load with the triple shocks because he has had the same load for years and taken lots of game with it (why fix it if it aint broke right?). Now he is down to his last box of bullets.
I have looked at Midway and Cabelas and all they have are the Triple Shocks (TSX). Specifically, I am looking for the Barnes XBT 7mm 150gr.
Do you think somewhere might have some in inventory or do you think we are basically SOL?

You're probably SOL unless you can find someone on this board or another message board that has some that they are willing to part with. I can't imagine a store having any leftovers since they haven't been made for quite some time.
BTW, when I read the title I assumed the topic was going to be about the original Barnes which I believe were actually lead.

Thats sort of what we were thinking but it doesnt hurt to try. They make a TSX that is comparable but thats not the ideal solution.
Thanks, I changed the title. Dont want to cause any confusion.

It shouldn't be too much of a problem to come up with a good TSX load. I'd suggest following load data meant specifically for Barnes bullets and load up to the max charge of RL 22 and seat .05 off the lands. Shouldn't take long.

I think I still have some blue coated Barnes bullets around somewhere but they are .308.

I have these two boxes sitting on my shelf collecting dust and I will never use them. But like Curly, they are .308

Well maybe if I get lucky someone will have some 7mm on their reloading bench that they have not thrown out yet
