OK i am in a predicament. Lent my trail cam to a buddy so he could take pics of the animals around his property. But one day he went out to check on it and it was gone. 4 wheeler tracks running down the trail. Started to knock on doors, the second house two kids on 4 wheelers. Did you see a camera in the wood on a tree. Nope they said. can i talk to your dad. Talked to the dad. Acted like he didn't know what it was. Finally admitted they had it. Said they didn't know what it was!!!! BS. Thought it was something that might hurt his kids???. He has the pics. of them and he is going to forward them to me?? QUESTION... POST or LET it be.??? Kinda Pissed. Glad to get it back 300 dollar camera. :dunno: :dunno:

I'm far from a lawyer but there's no way in hell in today's society I would post pics of some guys kids on the internet if that's what you mean by post?
I'd let it go, feel happy you got your camera back. Maybe call the cops and see if they had a way to scare the kids...hopefully teach them a lesson.

Was it taken off privite property? Not that it matters a whole lot but if the dad was concerned about the safety of the kids and it was on privite property he should tell them to stay the heck off of someone elses property without permmision.
I hate thieves but if your asking if you should post pics of the perps and they are kids I would say NO. Kids make stupid mistakes and that is how a lot of them learn (I know I did). If they are young adults (over 18) I would say go ahead. just my opinion.
-
Do not post pictures of someone elses kinds on the internet.
-
I call B.S., post pictures of the thieving little spawn. That way we know who the future scumbags are and we can steer clear of them. On second thought, might want to keep those pics to yourself.
-
with all the scum around these days I dont recomend posting pics of ANY kids on the net. :bdid:
-
So, the kids' dad is going to send you pics of his kids? ??? That is kind of strange.
If the kids are old enough to be out stealing things and riding four wheelers alone, they should be old enough to have their pics posted on this site. Maybe I'm too naive to know what some people could do with pics they find on the internet, but I can't think of anything that could go wrong with posting the pics........

Sounds like he is as crooked as the kids. I would let it be this time qand not post their pictures.

I would let it be you got the camera back.

Watch the show to catch a predator, and youll understand.

What? And let them get away with it? Claimed they didn't know what it was. Then why take it?
Vermon! (it appears), That even the dad tried to cover up for the boys. Look for public facing MySpace or Facebook accounts for the boys. If they've already got public facing photos, then you can post away! Don't put names to the photos though.
You could add to that, that you recovered your stolen camera from 'the address (occupants names withheld) of the home' you recovered it from. There's no lie there.. Just the truth.
So.. Was the dad going to punish the kids? That's a $300 item that didn't belong to them.

Since the dad tried to cover for them, I say call the cops. Get the pictures first so you can show them taking the camera. Your friend may even be able to press trespassing charges against them since it was on his property. Either way, a visit from the cops should keep them off his land and hopefully make them think twice about taking stuff that does not belong to them.

Why does the father have the pics? Where is your card? You can usually recover deleted photos from your card.
-
I hate theives and liers, I'd post them. but I'd probably get sued. then even if I won the court case I be out a ton of money.
-
Ya i wont do anything about it. Hope the kids learned something. The father is the one with the issue. I would have taken it back to the spot. But honesty is important to me and i teach that to my kids.
-
O Ya, Thanks for your responses.
-
Yes they got caught but did they learn any thing, not with that guy for a "dad"
-
Post up the pics of them approaching the cam, just blur their faces. I'm kinda interested in all this.
-
Post the pics. Can't see why you shouldn't. Especially if they were trespassing. :dunno:
I'm surprised the dad didn't delete the pics from the card before returning it. stupid must be genetic.
