I hooked my very first steelhead on the south fork just below red bridge I was 8 years old.  Hooked it on a trout pole fish won the fight.  There can be a lot of fish in that river at times

Are you hitting them towards the hatchery, I-5 or down river from that?  There were several rigs in the parking lot towards the mouth.

The south fork is above Arlington and out towards granite falls then up the mountain loop highway.  What hatchery are you talking about?
