Looking at the regs, the raffle elk tag is not open in any area not open to branch antlered bulls. Is this just regular seasons or does it include the permit tags, too? (IE, branch bulls in permit area = open for raffle hunt?)
I know I can use any weapon, but the area restriction confuses me

I have been confused over the same question.
-
You can hunt any unit that has an elk hunt in it, permit or regular. It might not include watershed hunts but i'm not positive on that. Any bull also.

:yeah:
I think(but I'm not sure) that the Watershed is off limits.
-
I believe that is accurate. Watershed is off limits as it doesn't meet criteria A

Doesn't matter anyway..... sorry but I bought the winning ticket last week. I hope you didn't waste your money :chuckle: :IBCOOL:

I read somewhere on here that there aren't any elk in the blues? Why would you put in for the eastside raffle?
-
Very good question HUNT, very good question indeed, because you are right, there are no elk in the blues

My ? to the WDFW:
The raffle tag is good for any area with branched antler bull season.
Does this mean the general seasons only, or does it also apply for areas that have draw permits for branched anther bulls?
Also, can you use any legal hunting weapon any time the raffle tag is good for? Or are you weapon restricted during archery or ML seasons?
Got this by email to my question:
Thank you for contacting the Wildlife Program regarding your raffle tag and permit question. The raffle tag would be good for any general season or special hunt season that is open during the year. So it's a pretty premier tag. Your hunting season dates are long as well, you can hunt in any of these areas between Sept. 1 - and Dec. 31, 2010.
You can use any legal weapon during this hunt, but you would be weapon restricted during the general season time frames for archery and muzzleloader in areas that is open for general season hunting. You can still use any legal weapon if your hunting during that timeframe but in an area not open for general season archery or muzzleloader hunting.
Hope this helps,
Wildlife Program

That Leavenworth unit is just full of elk or was full but the natives just finished their two month salmon fishing at the fish ladders on the Icicle so now their are no elk or salmon. What elk that were left went to the swakane until it burned up. ;) ;) :'( :chuckle: :chuckle:
