Title: hunting shows
Post by: wsucowboy on July 21, 2010, 08:37:37 PM
so the T.V. discussion got me to thinking what are your guys favorite hunting shows? Mine would have to be real tree road trips/ bone collector just because i like the guys on it and it's always good for a few laughs. I like Eastman's because you can pick up a good bit of knowledge, just can't stand Guy Eastman's voice. Let me know what you guys think.

I picked "other"
I like watching "The Rackman", even though its dubbed, the MONSTER MOOSE are AWESOME!!

most shows, I get tired of all the camoflaged hunters, sitting in blinds, watching food-plots, on private land.
 :dunno:
Shocky is cool...
 8)
Roger Raglin is a nut
 :P
Predator Quest and Easton Bowhunting TV  , because I like Fred Eichler.

Eastmans.....yet Shocky comes in a very close second if not for any other reason but for Hal and Len  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

"Eastman's" then "Easton Bowhunting" then Jim Shockey.

I like Eastman's because it's closest to the way I hunt.

Fred is a meat hunter that isn't throwing a tape at an animal as soon as he can.

Shockey just seems down to earth even though he dresses pretty goofy.  I'm not that into some of his hunts in other countries.

But....mostly because these guys aren't growing food plots to attract deer and making their horns grow bigger.

she's the whole reason i put the show on there. and they do kill some monster white tail.

yes Raglin is funny, i remember one time a few years ago and he was dove hunting, and he goes "you know it's bad when your hunting 15 minutes from your house and your late and lost." it was pretty funny. I also like Fred Eichler. I was going to put him on there but i couldn't remember his name or the show's name. He is one of my favorites. I love the fact that he uses a recurve.

There was a pretty good hunting show on the outdoor channel last night and I cant remember the name of it. They were hunting public land in Western Montana for Whitetails. They were just still hunting through the timber. That was a pretty good show but still not as good as Eastmans. If Tiffany did more carp hunting shows I think they would be my first choice.  :chuckle:

That's funny!  My wife and I were watching Tiffany shooting carp in her bikini and were wondering when she was going to fall out of her top.  I can't stand to hear her talk but that was a great episode.   :chuckle:
I like the Eastman's shows, some of Shockey's and old Tred Barta.  I cannot stand "Bone Collector" or any of those canned feeder/food plot "hunts".

I voted for Eastman's simply for the fact that almost all of their hunts are on public land and are do it yourself style. Another show I like, but I like their video's more, is Primo's shows. The guys seem cool and really enjoy hunting and for what it is all about. Like what has been said, I sure do get sick of watching guys hunt from a stand overlooking a private food plot shooting a whitetail. Not to say I wouldn't love to have the chance to do it but it just isn't something I can relate to and it seems like it is just same hunt different day. On a side note, one of my least favorite shows is Best of the West. When I first saw the title I got excited that they might actually show hunts around here but I was mistaken. Its all about how far away can you shoot an animal and I don't really like that. It would be fun to be good at and try to shoot things long distances but not an animal. It seems to take the "hunting" out of the sport and turns it more into just "shooting"...  :dunno:

How about ARROW AFFLICTION  hosted by Chris Brackett .

I voted Other. I like to watch the Bucks of Tecomate. To me that's probably the closest thing to the style of hunting the average working Joe does. They aren't spending the entire show telling you about how their special gear and management tactics are what got them that trophy class whitetail they just chalk it up to honest hard work and being selective with what you take. :lol4:

Sorry just couldn't hold the straight face any longer. To me any of the African safari episodes are great. Mostly because i know it's a pipe dream and I'll never really get to hunt over there. But oh to get my chance at a Cape buffalo.

That is a solid show but it isn't on very much. I enjoy watching him try some of those trick shots!  :archery_smiley:

I voted Bone collector, but I do like to watch "Tif", especially the carp hunting. I really miss 'ol Tred and the Barta way

I hate to admit it but i love listening to Ted nugent rant after he shoots a deer. Duck Commander is also a good show, i don't bird hunt often, but i would love it if the wife would let me grow a beard that long. :chuckle: I don't watch getting close on purpose, yet i have a habit of paying more attention when its on for some reason ;)
