just found out I'm gonna miss my early muzzle elk season :( due to work i will not be able to take the time off, i usually hunt unit 513 and have never really hunted elk in any other unit, my work schedule is gonna kill me for getting out and scouting, does anybody have any ideas or help in a late season unit on the westside to hunt? any and all help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

You can try the Mossyrock unit with everybody else.  It gets hunted very hard but there are elk in there.

I live in the Longview/Kelso area and there is A LOT of area down here to hunt.  The Coweeman (550) is huge and lot's of access.  There are also a lot of people that hunt it but if you review the harvest numbers you will see it produces a lot of animals.  I would also look at the Mossyrock (505).....I have never hunted there but sounds like it can be productive.  I was looking at the unit you normally hunt, the 513, and was wondering if you could give some insight on the type of area there is available.  I will be hunting the early muzzle season with my father in law.  He has a disabled hunter tag....he can hike a bit, but I would be the one willing to hike as much as possible.  Is there much access?  Is it all hike, bike, horse country?  Any insight would be awesome!  Thank you!
