Title: Heading to Neah Bay (updated with Pics)
Post by: engelwood on July 29, 2010, 01:51:20 PM
I'm taking off first thing in the morning for Neah Bay  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:. Going with my buddy and will fish all day friday and all day saturday. The details are sketchy, but apparently we will be fishing mainly for Lingcod and Rock bass. Hopefully we can talk the guide into going for some salmon also. Wish me luck!!!  :fishin:

On the slow side. If you know what you're doing you have better odds. The guys that don't aren't getting any fish.

I am at Sekiu for the next 9 days, can let you guy's know how it is. Just got here today and the average when I talked to the fish checkers was just over one king per boat. They said the tides will start getting better starting now and the kings have started showing. They have been coming in up to between 20 and 30 pounds. I will actually find out in the morning when I take my boat out and test the waters. My boat sits at the dock here for 6 months out of the year and I am glad to get it out and use it.

Just got back from Sekiu. The bite picked up the last couple mornings. Nothing hot but there a few fish to be had. Being on the water at first light is a must. Released a couple in the mid 20's as well as a few others and brought home 3. Neah Bay reports sounded similar. Not a ton of fish.

I have a Trophy 2359 with an Alaska cabin, Staying at Van Ripers resort in a Sightseer 30' motorhome. There is a nice group of us and would love for you to say hello. Everyone that I have met from this group has been terrific and I am sure that you are the same.

Took a husband and wife out for a couple of hours this morning. Had a few bites, lost some and landed a nice silver and king that had clipped fins. The couple wanted to come in for breakfast, will head out later. Saw others boats catching as well. Seems like a decent start to me.

Bumped into bowtech on the water this morning (nice set up) sounded like they were having some luck. We hit a few, the trick is first light, after that the bite really slows down.

I was up at Barkley Sound Thurs- Sat and it isn't red hot fishing up there either. We had to work for the fish ended up with some nice kings/springs as the canucks call them with three over 25#. Beautiful area just needed the fish to come inside we were running 20 miles to the fish. Heard that swiftshore is good right now. nwhunter
