Title: Sequim Bulls
Post by: Roger on August 05, 2010, 05:52:06 PM
Ran into the bulls this afternoon and got a few pictures, was still working so not going to see about getting a little closer. They're a little to far away, but you can definitely see them.

Nice picture !  Great group of bulls. They won't be buddies much longer, one whiff is all it will take. Mike

Try not to bounce your arrow off the house in the background

Looks like they should give out a couple more permits for the area.

Nice! Hopefully there isn't an Indian problem up there, visible bulls like that don't usually last long if there is. . .

Nearly all the elk in the Sequim area are inside Elk Area 6071.  The only hunting in that area is by permit only.  Master Hunters have 15 antlerless permits.  Youth have 5 antlerless permits. No "bull" or "any elk" permits are available.

The elk here are pretty tame and I would not count it hunting. Just about the permit tags that get filled are on private property. There are several landowners that do allow permit holders to harvest an elk off of their lands. It's always nice to see the bulls.

No there ins't an Indian problem with the elk in Sequim. The only problem in that town is all the Californians that have taken the town over and want the elk removed. How about removing them!  I remember as a kid seeing the elk in the farm fields there. Well when you develop the fields into housing projects, don't know what to tell you.  :mor: They were there first. I wrote a nasty Letter to the Editor in the 90's in the Peninsula Daily News due to the Californiains complaining.  :bs:

Is that particular spot along the Dungeness loop? Maybe a couple miles from the park. Or out by the highway?
