I see on the GoHunt that a lot of that area is Federal Forest land.  Is that huntable?

All Federal land is huntable unless it is a National Park or Refuge.

Sure, it's "huntable" but I assume you're talking about elk since this is in the elk section, correct? If so, GMU 636 is not open for general elk season. There are a few special permit hunts in there, but no general season. There's a reason for it. There are very few elk, as apparently the indians have killed them all.
