who is ready for grouse?!
got a few days before the opener... any thoughts on locations this year, i havent been up to the hills lately, but the word ive been hearing is that the berrys and foodsources for the birds are comming in late this year, thats what i have heard, havent seen it for myself yet... whats your guys :twocents:?

I, nor my pardners, have seen any Blue Grouse in the Okanogan country this summer. We've been in the hills every weekend since the first of July. This will be the first year, that we will NOT harvest any Blues due to the horrible numbers with the last two wet springs we had. If you're an ethical hunter, and enjoy the sport of hunting the big ole B52's, then I would be very cautious of what you harvest this year in this neck of the woods. :twocents:

i remember reading somewhere that the grouse are known for sticking to thier "area" and once they establish a comfort zone they dont really move too far from it on a day to day basis, some have even said you can flush em out, and with in a few hours they will come right back... so roughly speaking, if you saw a bird on one area and decided not to take him, chances are he will be in that same area for an extended period of time. if we are dealing with low numbers.........
