Title: Defensive shooting classes?
Post by: Tony 270 on August 27, 2010, 07:19:11 PM
Or whatever you want to call them... any handgun courses you've gone through that you'd recommend? Have shot a bit, but have never gone through any formal handgun courses and certainly want to. Think it would be money very well spent.

Who did you go through and what did you think? Any you'd suggest to steer away from?

Thanks

Not sure of your location but I know Norpoint near Arlington has classes. Also, could probably contact your local PD and inquire if they know of anything in your area.

I know there is one at The Upper Nisqually Gun Club near Eatonville.  There is another at The Marksman on Canyon Road and Hwy 512.

Firearms Academy of Seattle; they train in Chehalis.

I have never taken any of there on site courses but I have taken several "mini courses" that they taught when I used to go to the WSLEFIA 3 gun shoots in Yakima.  They seemed to have solid instruction skills and combat pistol ideology.

We should save up some money and go to Thunder Ranch or Gunsite!  Until then, I have plenty of drills I can put you through that will get you started.
