Title: The Blues
Post by: Ridgerunner on March 14, 2008, 12:06:44 PM
Every one pretty much knows they have the best bulls in the state but are there some units that are better or worse than others?  Inquiring minds want to know.  I haven't spent much time down there but am curious about those units.

I live down here and I wouldnt waste my points on any of the units.  These bulls are way to heavy to pack out.

LOL

All you have to do is stop by this site or look at a few videos. There is a ton of evidence that continues to be provided here. It will only make the draw that much more difficult!

then you throw in the big burn above dayton and the habitat is just screwed. nothing for them to eat. if you do see an elk all you see is ribs and dinky antlers.

The biggest elk I ever saw in person was outside Waitsburg I believe it was an 8x9 it was at dusk and not enough light to make out all points. Also come to think of it I saw a large whitetail the same night.

I saw a biggun' just a couple miles south of Dayton when I was fighting the Columbia Complex a couple years ago. Bout 20 head. The big guy and 3 raggies with a bunch of cows.

Like the guys mention before, we did see excessive cougar and bear sign. We worked night shift and when we would drive out in the morning there would be fresh cougar and bear tracks right in road.
