Colder weather this week may spark up a little bugling but I would imagine a lot of people are debating on whether there will be enough action to head out for the weekend. Whos headed out to chase the early bulls?? I don't know about Washington but Idaho archery opens over labor day weekend :IBCOOL:

There is plenty of chatter going on up in the hills right now, there has been for a couple weeks now. Hunting WA for 3 days starting on the opener then to Idaho for 10, should be a good time. Good luck.

I haven't been hearing anything down here yet, but I haven't spent a night out yet. Was out till dark picking huckleberries this weekend though and didn't hear anything.

I've was out a few evenings the past couple of weeks and haven't heard anything either. How was berry picking?

Took the boys out twice last week. Still a lot of green berries up high, but we found enough to pick. I think we got about a gallon in 4 hours of picking. That was me and the 11 year old, I think the 3 year old came out with a net loss... :chuckle:

Was down at Mt. St helens this weekend and the bulls were sounding off pretty good. There were more bugles on the Johnson Ridge side than on the Windy Ridge side. Took a little walk down a skid road with the girlfriend and had 6 cows and 2 bulls down in a clear cut, I let out a couple mews and the big 5x5 stepped out of the brush and lit up he did that for about 10 minutes then the little bull down below decided to chime in and that pissed off the 5x5 and he started heading down to the smaller bull, but the smaller one ran back into the timber. I guess he had already been put in his place once and didn't want a re-peat.

Your 3 year old may never grow out of that habit. I always come away with a net loss...
