Have a few buddies that have been hunting the mossyrock unit that have not seen any elk yet.
-

My brother has been hunting around that area also the last few days and has'nt seen anything as far as elk either. But tomarrow were heading to the east side for some mulie action!! We'll hit the late season for elk.
-
I wonder if they may have gotten pushed down low with all the pressure the last couple of days..
-
or up deep into winston they have alot of closed off area around there to go hide
-
been out there (back and forth) since Sunday...saw 15 on Saturday morning backside of 5000 rds. haven't seen much other than those. only seen 2 taken out of the area, and happened to stumble on a solo cow on our way out tonight...no luck though...she ran faster than we could get down to her.
good luck..it is busy out there.

I saw a whole field full of elk between Randle and Packwood. Looks like this herd finally moved down to the private fields right off Hwy 12. :bash: >:( :bash: >:( :'(
This wasn't what I needed to see as I was part way through a 4 hour drive back home with a soaked tent/sleeping bag.... Time to dry out and head back the first of next week. Gonna fill the deer tag this weekend. :IBCOOL:
-
Thats what i like to see. :)
Beins i just got access to some private fields down by the river
Hopefully this weekend will carry some luck for me!
Fillin your deer tag should be easy. Go to the tree farm about a mile before the iron creek camp ground. Seen alot of deer in there tuesday and wednesday. My buddy actullay shot a decent sized forked horn.
Good luck!

I have been thru the northern part of dechutes, most of puyallup and part of Mashel and have only seen 5 cows....*sigh* not hearing anything, they are quiet (the few I saw). I don't know if it's still too early for the rut or what?? Do you think the rain this week is affecting them? The cows I saw were out during a down pour!
-
Rain is a good thing...

Was in Mossyrock today and now I know why no one is seeing anything......30 trucks running up and down the roads! The best one was a truck that had a guy standing in the bed while driving down the road...bow at the ready.... :chuckle:

saw three guys all in camo sitting in the back of a yellow chevy south of packwood, they just kept circling the same 2 mile loop it looked like, all ready with their bows, saw three indians in a ford ranger, two with ak47's, they asked if i saw any elk, wtf!!!!!!!!
-
AK-47's???? they're a little early for modern rifle aren't they :P
-
they were indians, they do what they want when they want.
