Title: A couple more Alaska trout
Post by: SpokaneSlayer on September 09, 2010, 11:14:51 PM
I've been on a hot streak lately up here.  4 trips and haven't been skunked yet.  Here's a couple more, one from Labor Day and one from tonight.

Thanks man.  Unfortunately, they had to be released.  That lake is C&R only on rainbow's since they are wild.  I can definitely tell the difference in the fight.  These fish are a totally different animal, jumping 2 feet in the air and zipping back and forth.

No, from what I've heard, I kind of missed the boat for the salmon runs this year.  Next year.

Still some good silver fishing on the kenai right now.  Hooked a few last weekend.  Nice trout, please be careful sticking your fingers in the gills is not a good habit to have for C&R fishing.

Nice fish!! and dito on the fingers in the gils. FYI it causes them to grow fungi in the gills and it will kill them in a just a few days.

Keep the pics going and maybe add some with the country behind you. I love Alaska!

Thanks for the tip guys.  I'll keep that in mind.  Any better way to hold them so they don't flop as much?  I'll try to get some pics with more of the background.  Those pics were taken by using the timer with the camera on the hood of my car since I was by myself.

If you hold them by the wrist of the tail and support the body just behind the peck fins they don't move too bad plus if the move too much and you are dropping them you can guide them to the deeper water.

Thanks man, I'll give that a shot.

Rasbo - I am having a blast.  Had a trout actually break my line yesterday.  That was a first.
