Title: Holy Gill Nets!
Post by: Gringo31 on September 11, 2010, 08:19:57 PM
Did anyone else see how many nets were in the Columbia today?  From Roosevelt to the Dalles there were nets on both sides of the river (maybe 200 yards long) and every 400 yards for 60 miles!  I have no idea how much they ran west of the Dalles.  Then it seemed that they were all pulling their nets early afternoon.

I saw "vendors" loading salmon right from the boat launch and a lot of it loaded into big white totes marked "food bank".  I can't believe a salmon could have made it past those nets today.

Yea, I noticed the same thing. It looks like a commercial operation goining on at their boat launches.
