Well...I guess i have a question for all the blacktail hunters out there....Anyone have any pictures or heard of any nontypical blacktails getting shot......If theres much intrest i might post some pictures...but ive been recently interested in the whole blacktail thing and some of the oddities out there.....gotta love the little guys...
So anyone heard or have any cool nontypical blacktail pics?

There was two really nice Non typicals killed in Mason County last year. I know 1 picture was up at Verle's The other i don't remember where I seen it at. Once these little guys get in your blood it is hard to get them off your mind.

if you start its hard as heck to stop blacktails are addicting animals they are fun to hunt and if you get a good one your stuck for life. :)

Shot this one on Sept. 8th

Agreed completely...I love the stuff thats just different...I had a gentleman bring in a sweety blacktail the otherday..I will ask him if i can post a picture but its a nasty 4x7 blacktail...Not Big or anything...about 12-13 inches wide, but just stuff all over...Great lookin deer...
highside great deer...love that kicker off the main beam.......
Well lets keep this rolling...see if anyone else has any pics?

I find it wierd how many 1 or 2 or 3 by hanging down broken off velvet covered antler (blacktail bucks) I have seen killed or in the woods and I think they make the coolest trophys.

I will see if I can get the pics from my buddy but he passed on a buck last year that was a non-typical. It looked like clubs coming out of the top of his head with six or seven fingers sticking straight out of the top. Over all he was about a 14-16" spead but anout 18" tall. He saw him 3 times but took a nice 5x5 the last day of the hunt. He hunted 4 days and saw 5-6 shooters every day. All blacktails. They are up there boys. How hard do you want to work for them?

Oh yah a picture of that guy would be sweet.

Below is the link to the buck I got last year. I thought it was cool, especially being able to look at it on the wall.

That is a cool looking buck. I would have mounted him too.

Cool bucks fellas, putting one of them down is a challenge in it's self. Never shot a non-typical but my buddy's dad did a few years back. Hopefully this year will be the year of the blacktail for me. Good luck to all. :)

Here is a couple of my old blacktail's from California. Took these about 15-20 years ago.

Not non-typical but a nice B/T

Not really a non-typical as to antlers but the deer I have as my avatar is definitely not your typical blacktail. I got the blondie in 1989 late hunt between Barlow Pass and Darrington up the Skull Creek drainage. I have the hide also and the tail is just a light shade of brown. The rest is blonde.
-
Here's last year's buck. Live weight was 189lbs. My experience with blacktails around here is you will probably see more non-typicals than typicals on the more mature deer.
