did some calling for bears and coyotes today in the toutle unit today as i live about 20 minutes from there. i have three rr calls from rick boy they sound great and carry quite a distance. tried a few coyote howls as well heard a few barks off in the distance. new to calling for coyotes and bears. was doing fawn in distress. did a few rabbit in distress calls as well. did a few howls as i was looking for yotes as well. my question is has any one ever heard a yote bark. found some bear scat on some of the gated roads but most of it was old. it sure poured down with rain today. but it was nice to be out in the woods with my son.

95% of the time when a yote barks. you are busted. either they know you are fake or they saw you. or they are un-nerved and not relaxed. have had all of the above happen. if you are calling bear i would not be howling on the same stand, unless you are at the very end of your calling.

yeh i did not do any howling until we moved to a different area. just never heard one bark before. makes sense it was raining hard and starting to get foggy and the wind was really starting to blow and i could swore i heard a few barks off in the distance. how many times are you calling before you stop and wait? how long are you waiting before you move on? these two questions are related to bear calling. thanks
