Title: ideal weather
Post by: vandeman17 on September 20, 2010, 09:35:06 AM: I have a question for you guys. My old man and I leave Thursday morning for our elk hunt in Montana. I have been watching the weather for the past few weeks in the closest town to where we will be hunting. It has been rainy and kind of stormy for about a week and starting Thursday it is supposed to get nice, as in uppers 60's to low 70's during the day and low 40's at night. Granted this is in town and we will be well above it but what do you guys think? Good, bad, makes no difference? :dunno:

The hunting should be good either way, since you'll be hunting the peak of the rut with little to no competition from other hunters. If you don't have to deal with rain getting everything wet, things will be so much easier. And it helps in the hunting aspect as well because you won't have the problem of fogged up binoculars, spotting scopes, and rifle scopes. Not to mention you will be much more comfortable if you stay dry without the need to wear rain gear.

Hey thanks! We should have plenty of pictures, video and stories when we get back to keep us occupied for weeks! :IBCOOL:

I really appreciate that. I am just becoming more and more like my dad where I over analyze everything. As long as we get into the elk, hear some bugling, see some beautiful country and have a good time it will be worth it to me. Getting an elk will just be icing on the cake. :brew:
