Does anyone know of a battery free method of making ripples in a decoy set? I think in many cases it would seal the deal. I've toyed with hooking decoys up to rubber tubing and pulling but that was a short-lived deal. Just curious

a jerk cord should be in the arsenal of every small water duck hunter... If it didn't work for you the first time I'd try it again in a different set up. They are deadly effective.

:o That is the best idea. You can use a bungee cord as well on the end of the line. I have a 1.5lb folding anchor to it I have hooked two pieces of rubber tubing hooked to eachother to make them longer. Then hook line to the end of the tubing and use very large swivels held in place by two depth adjuster. Place 4 swivels along the line 2-3 feet apart. Make the line long enough to run to your blind. Pull the line and you will have so many ripples it will look perfect.

I run some paracord to a mudhen decoy to an anchor with no bungee, pull on the cord and the mudhen goes underwater....let it out and it plops to the surface. Works great.
The pic is blurry but you get the point...

I have a wing magic decoy that I use at times. Along with several decoys rigged to decoy line or 100 lb fishing lines. Some are dippers by running an eye or a weight to the bottom and several are attached to a tubular post with black surgical tubing. I will run 1 - 3 decoys so I can get lots of ripples going.

I am looking to run the new kick splash from decoy dancer. It is a pull string but up feeder throws a good ripple and a little water.
