Title: Pears for bait
Post by: Hangfire on September 29, 2010, 07:44:03 AM
I recently received some pears. I put some of the scabby and bruised pears out for trail camera bait. I have never gotten as many coyote pictures as I have with pears for bait. The whitetail readily come to them also.

I put out 2-3 gallons of bruised and trimmings of pears from my wife's processing them. Last night I put the camera out at 8:30 pm and brought it in at 6:am this morning, 10 hours. I got 46 pictures which is the most I have ever gotten over night at my place. There were 35 whitetail pictures, including one small buck. I had 11 coyote pictures. There were several picture of 2 or more coyotes. The coyotes visited the site several times over a 6 hour time span. This is the best bait I have used. The pictures are taken within 100 yards of my house. All the animals have to travel 1/2 mile or more across hay fields to get to my place.

I will put a picture on here after I get done painting the shop and I can figure out how to post them.
