How many members got drawn for White River. My brother drew it, I hope he kills something. Anyone have any tips for the unit. He has been scouting it out seen a few nice bulls. He said they have sold out of keys to the Copowsin farm but if you draw special permiit you can buy one. Anyone know if that is true??

The Kapowsin Tree Farm is not in the White River Unit. The White River Tree Farm (owned by the same company) is in the unit. There have probably been 5 threads in the past month about this unit. Do a search!

Tex is correct. To hunt the tree farm you have to be drawn for the tree farm tag or be an executive for the Hancock tree farm. There is a total of 12 tags...
-
What you mean is the White river farm managed by Hancock which run's them all. From there to Eatonville. Yes if you draw the White River tag they will sell you an access pass even if they are sold out. My buddies wife drew the archery tag and was sold a pass after they were all sold out.

As far as I know Big Tex is wrong. There are parts of the white river unit that border/or in the Kapowsin tree farm. If you draw white river you can get access.
-
Kapowison Tree Farm is closed to access during all elk season's in the Mashel and White River Units. Except for the permit holders that get drawn for the right to hunt elk for that season.
-
When is the White River elk permit hunt that you are referring to? If it falls outside of the general elk seasons then Hancock may sell an extra key/permit to get into their property that falls within the White River GMU???? Worth asking at least.

The entire White River unit went permit only for elk about 5 years ago. Hancock does sell temporary permits that allow you to access the farm for the hunt.

And I will add to your statement. When you say "Except for the permit holders that get drawn for the right to hunt elk for that season" he means those permit holders that were drawn in the special permit drawing that Hancock operates, WDFW does not operate this permitted hunt.
