Good evening all,
Please forgive me if this is a dumb or ignorant question, as I feel it very well may be... I purchased a Western WA MF elk tag, but I have recently found out that I'm going to be flying on a detachment in SoCal for the whole of that season (NOV 6-16).
The question: Is it legal to trade (preferable) or possibly sell this tag?
I have done a fair amount of searching and reading through results for "tag trade" or "tag swap" and haven't come across anything conclusive. I can't think of any other lingo that would be pertinent to this topic...
Any info would be greatly appreciated. And, oh by the way, if a trade is possible and you have an archery tag... Please let me know.
Thanks,
Winston

Not legal to do in this state. And if you do, the person who uses your tag will face charges for using your tag. And you will face charges for giving someone your tag. You will also both lose your hunting and fishing privilges for several years.

That's the info I was looking for... I appreciate it.

being that the season hasn't started yet maybe you could exchange it? :dunno: Wouldn't hurt to ask. I think I remember someone on here saying they did that once.

Call the WDFW Mill Creek office and ask them. They are helpful.

Yeah, call the game dept. and don't take no for an answer, keep going up the chain.

I went as high as the permit manager to exchange my tag, was going to keep it on the east side but just wanted to change it from muzzle to archery to help my dad who is a disabled hunter. I was told NO, it is in the regulations that only for 3 or 4 reasons can it be done.
