i'm finally gonna give chukar hunting a try. Gonna go out with my brother-in-law. Neither of us has ever bird hunted so this will be a great learning experienc for us. I won't be taking my dog cuz she's too young, my brother-in-law thinks we'll get our limits in a couple hours_ but I doubt we'll get anything. But i'm syill lookin forward to the hunt  wish us good luck :)

went out on saturday,.... and didn't really get to hunt. my brother-in-law came with me, about 20 min. into our hike his bad knee started to hurt him really bad.(i had no idea he had a bad knee) so we called it a day at 7:30 am. :bash: :bash: i was kinda upset after telling him time and time again that chukar hunting is very tireing and hard on your legs, he forgot to mention his bad knee. but its ok. i got to check out the area a little so i'm gonna be back there next weekend. :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: probably by myself :) i did see a hunter out there though, anyone from this site? :dunno: saddle moutain around 7 am saturday?

That's pretty funny, and he's the one that said you'd have limits in a couple hours of hunting. I have not spent a lot of time chukar hunting, but over the years I've put a few hard days in out there chasing those *censored*s, and I never got a limit. I was happy to just knock one down in a day's hunt. I think once I did get three birds in one day. That was quite an accomplishiment. Chukar hunting is harder than any deer or elk hunt I've ever been on. What's the old saying? " Something like: The first time you hunt chukars is for fun, the rest of your life you hunt for revenge."

Bobcat, that's funny abd prolly very true.
Never give up after only a couple tries. Practice makes perfect.
