Just curious why a lot of the bulls I see from Vancouver Island are scored SCI only :dunno:

They sure are proud of their services - that's for sure.

And they don't supply alchol. WTF

I'm not sure what you're saying. From the website you referenced:
The 2000s have seen Vancouver Island's elk herds at an all time high, with most hunters taking Boone and Crockett bulls!
The #1 Boone and Crockett and the #1 Safari Club International Roosevelt Elk have both been taken from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada in recent years.
Our hunter took the new world record muzzleloader Roosevelt Elk, and Ron Bridge took the #3 all-time Boone and Crockett bull, both with North Island Guide Outfitters on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
In 2005, Jim also took a Boone & Crockettt Roosevelt Elk with our oufit with his bow that will most likely stand as the 4th largest Elk ever taken with a bow.

21,000 bucks !!!! :yike: :yike: :yike:
And that doesn't even include the tag!

Just seems that a lot of the bulls in past years have were only shown with SCI scores. A lot more mention of B&C now. Just wondering if there was more to the story.

Those guys are on crack............nobody in there right mind would pay that.
-
They do pay that though.... I believe Shockey owns that and if his name is envolved it always costs more.
-
Shockey is a punk..If it wasn't for his wife's money no one would know of him..

As I recall when I talked with Sean Lingl during our bear hunt, the tags for the Roosevelt hunts are very limited in the areas that the outfitters have. I know that Canadian Outfitters (Sean Lingl) only has a couple of hunts per year.
He doesn't post the pricing but I recall it is in the $20k plus range.
I figure the deal I have in New Mexico lets me hunt there for 6 years for what one hunt would be on the island. I would rather eat elk most every year than worry about a set of horns. Not that I wouldn't love to have areal trophy set of horns, all of them are trophies to me.
There do always seem to be hunters willing to drop the big bucks for a hunt though and not only with the Shockey outfits.
