Title: Brit has 1 point to go!
Post by: jetjockey on October 17, 2010, 08:36:15 AM
Just found out that my Brittany won her major points yesterday. She took first in an Open Gun Dog horseback trial. Im not exactly sure how many dogs were in the trial, but it sounds like 30+ ran in OGD. We are really excited since there were several pro trainers there with many of the best gun dogs in the nation. Too bad we didn't run her as a puppy. If she had her puppy points she would have just become a Field Champion at 28 months old.

Perfect, sounds like a nice dog.I  have a FC  setter and he got his the hard way also, with no puppy or derby points. He was the top dog in his breed that year,I trialed him 3 years. He's a machine,I also have another machine and she's a really NICE go getter.I'm hoping she comes in season here in the next little bit,the combination of the two should make some pretty nice pups.I'm basing the breeding on performance first and papers least.Major trainwrecks on all the "On paper AF CH sired hotrod" bred dogs I've tried to cultivate a performer out of.Who you got your dog with?

Wild
Shes with a Brit guy on the east coast.  We are really proud of her.  Shes a tweener and has always been great with bird work.  In all her trials, she has gotten around clean except for once, and that was because the bird literaly hit her in the face when it was flushed, she turned to mark it and took a step.. Game over..

Congratulations.....know the feeling.  Used to field trial both setters and retrievers many, many years ago.  Nothing more fun.

Welcome back. :hello:
