My daughter got drawn for doe tag for perragyn unit. friday night we seen 6 mulie does by an apply orchard so decided to back opening morning. we get there and see no deer so we went to another spot and didnt see anything so we went for an afternoon drive to look around and on the way home i say lets go check out the apple orchard again so we pull up and start glassing and i see a whitetail slowly feeding into the orchard but in the mean time i see a guy and his little kid going to sit on a point that looks over the orchard, which is where we sat opening morning. so i figure were going to go to and at least ask him if he minds. so we over to him and tell him my daughter has a doe tag and he says ya go ahead (thanks to him if hes on here) so we sneak closer to the orchard and get her shooting sticks set up then the waiting game is on. its going in and out of the trees only presenting a couple broad side shots so we finally loose it behind the trees and figure its going to come out in an opening. well it finally does and goes broadside a couple times and she doesnt shoot. (first deer jitters) so i tell her to just calm down and it actually feeds a little closer then it winds us i think and comes right at us and stops and stomps looking at us then it kinda spooks and takes off and stops about 60 yards out and i tell her she better take it now and she pulls the trigger and pinwheels it, an excellent shot right behind the front should and it runs about 40 yards and dies under an apple tree. we walk up to it and i see it has about half inch horns barely pushing on the hide. it was nice and young and it should be excellent eating.

yep, NEF in 243 cal. 100 grain federal soft points. put a hurtin on that deer. went clear through.
