Title: Stooopid Biology Question
Post by: SFD2015 on October 18, 2010, 05:49:22 PM: Okay, so I hunt the Rainy side and every year, me and my hunting partners usually put a little dab of Doe Estrus on our boots and pant legs. Since we are obviously going for a Blacktail, does it matter if we are using Mule Deer or White Tail Deer Doe Estrus?

I know it's to early for the rut, but I have always wondered this. :dunno:

During the rut well B.T. scent would be best but, Lets face it, if you only have a couple of weeks out of the year to relieve the pressure are you going to be that picky about the cosmetics? If she will let ya mount, you are gonna mount. Not the most scientific of explanations but, sometime you just got to fallow Aldo leopolds advise on "spit and whittle biology".

Actually the directions say to squirt some on the bottom of your boot, the bottom of your pant leg and then make a wet spot on your hat.

I guess it would be MUCH simpler to use BT scent. All the answers make scents.
