Well, I'm off to Lick Creek this Saturday for my bull hunt. I am staying at the Wenatchee Guard Station cabin if anyone is in the area stop by and say hi. I got to thinking of how much time/preparation/costs have gone into this special hunt. It has cost me, if anyone doubts how much us hunters bring to the community take a look at this:
5000 miles driven
$875 gas
$400 hotel
$4000 misc truck repairs, some needed but mostly don't want my truck breaking down in the blues
$1000 new rifle
$500 ammo/reloading supplies
$1000 new hunting gear
$1500 mount assuming I take a trophy and it's not a given
$400 cabin rental
Two weeks vacation burn
85 hours driving
$300 food
I am sure these numbers will go up a bit by the time my hunt is over and I know I'm missing some.
Wish me luck.

No problem on that, should have plenty of room. Let me know. Funny, I claimed a corner of our dining room two weeks ago and started a pile of gear so as to not to miss anything at the last minute. Wife hates me now but hey, I have priorities!
-
Mine did too until I got here on her first buck and now I think I'm good :chuckle:
-
Lick Creek can be a great place to see animals! Love it there. I hope to get a chance to hunt there soon. Best of luck to you.
-
could be worse, my buddy has a shed tag, so we have to add in physical therapy and a pschycologist.
-
Good luck to you, I've seen some dandy bulls there. If I get a chance I'll stop by.
-
Just look for the Dodge 2500 blue with a cap. Thanks guys.

Good Luck on your hunt! Wish I could draw that tag someday......

Good luck to you, kill a monster :bfg:

Do you cut your own game? gonna be a big butcher bill too. Cost of bagging the bull of a lifetime? Priceless. Good luck man.

good luck, that is an awesome tag
-
Good luck, I seen some dandy bulls in there during the muzzy cow hunt.
-
Do my own butchering but I do need to buy some bags, about $65 will do me for the season.

Hey, if you don't mind sharing. How many points did you have to draw ?

I see you found your truck from your scouting trip.Them dodges never stay where you leave them.
-
Get anything?
-
Yeah did you get anything? I spend a lot of time in that unit and have been dying to know how your trip went and what you got.
-
hey CARETAKER!!!!!! Pictures? where the hell are you? The bulls get you. I got a spike in LIck this year from a heard of 60 with 5 big bulls in it and one that was the biggest bull I have seen down there all summer. if he wasn't close to 400 I don't know what is (which is probably true).
-
He's probably still trying to pack one out of the bottom of Charley Fork.

LMAO! Certainly not a spot I'd want to pack a big bull out alone.
-
I talked to him on the phone the other day and he did tag out! :IBCOOL: He was doing some stuff around the house and had his pictures on someone elses cam so he would post when he got them! Come on Larry hurry up :bash:

Been out the last three weeks on my Lick Creek hunt, then Bob33 and I went on a outfitter hunt sound of Joseph Oregon, took my son out to unit 245 yesterday so I just got back. I need to upload some pics but I need to make them smaller so I can upload them. Got a nice 5x6 on the last day of my hunt. Passed up on some larger bulls and didn't want to go home empty. Have lots of stories to tell.
