Title: Skykomish River 2 coho only,no chum?
Post by: Stomper on October 20, 2010, 07:45:09 AM
I was reading the regs and in it the Skykomish says salmon-2 daily limit coho only?Does this mean I can't keep any chums? The reason I would like to keep a chum is I caught the state record a few years back and didn't know it until I had already cleaned the fish and filleted it.So I was hoping to try and take the state record again this year. The regs don't say release all chum? :dunno: :bash:

Chum must be released. To many were caught using nets   :bash: the last couple years. Almost decimated the run. Typical WDFW, close it to sport fisherman, but the tribes still get to get theirs. Been lots of threads regarding this on another site (PP).

Totally, when the chum run gets decimated, it is time for some changes. Seriously, get a clue.

I hate to dwell on the past but I will.  I remember fishing the Skagit  8-10 years ago and the chum run was insane.  It was always fun.  Big chum, lots of chum, rolling chum...  Last several years it's been a ghost river.

Call me stupid if you like,I like to fish and I don't care about the species.

Obviously, you opened your mouth and removed all doubt.
