Season #2, buck #2 for our newest hunting partner Kyle. This year went down almost the same as last year and about 50 yards from the spot he killed his 1st buck last year. Opening day about 1:30pm we saw a little dinker spike buck's ears and antlers sticking up in the CRP. We thought maybe there'd be another couple deer with them but we couldn't see so I climbed up on this old loading chute so I could get some height and look down. I put the bino's up to my face and instantly see a wierd looking rack sticking up a little. I got down off the chute and we got Kyle up on it thinking maybe we could get the old buck to stand up but after a few minutes we decide to work around and up a little bit. Kyle and his dad make their way to the fence line and use the 2nd strand of wire to rest the gun. The wierd buck stood up but was standing straight away. Kyle sat there patiently waiting for him to turn around and when he did he let him have it. The buck did the boom flop and was dead in his tracks. He's a huge body'd deer with a 3x1 rack. I don't know if he broke off his G-2 in velvet or what but it wasn't there and there was a mushroom shaped formation on it.

Thats a NEF Youth Handi-rifle in .243
The T/C is mine. His dad wanted to kill a deer with the bow so I carried the bow and he carried my rifle when the deer went down just in case.
