Ya I hear ya, this is the only week out of the entire year that I wish I rifle hunted. My 14 yr old rifle hunts though but I just can't get him excited, I just wish he knew how prime it is right now and had more of a desire, all he cares about is his damn video games. Oh well I guess I can't force it on him.

No kidding!  I archery hunt but haven't designated my tags yet (was pondering muzzleloader with my kid).  This week I have been tempted to get a modern tag and hunt with my archery tackle.  I still can't bring myself to hunt with a rifle again, just ain't fun to me.   :chuckle:  The bucks are moving like crazy around here and this weather is awesome.  I'm sitting in the middle of an all out deluge of wind, hail and rain.  Great hunting weather!!!

I went out in 454 today to take a short walk ( no more than 2 miles from the truck ) behind a gated rowad. Was walking up a road on a powerline and cut up into the timber on an old skid road. Was looking down checking out some tracks and when I looked up there was magically a fork buck standing in front of me at 50 yards. Just stood there looking at me for a minute or so then turned and walked into the brush.

Only deer I saw but I was only out there for an hour or so.
