Title: columbia river questions
Post by: nwlynx22 on October 26, 2010, 02:01:28 PM
My family wants to head to the columbia thanksgiving weekend any ideas or tips. Will there still be coho or should we focus on running steelhead? Also I have heard of people targeting walleye? Any help would be great.

the columbia is a big river it might help if you get a little more specific as to where on the columbia you are thinking about going.  as for the salmon up here around wenatchee salmon is closed, steelhead is open i believe walleye is open but dont quote me on that and i know that the columbia is under special gear regs (single barbless hook) with the exception that bait and scent is allowed

Gotta say, heck with those fish -----go for some Sturgeon...

Seriously, what part of the river are you planning on fishing?  That atleast will get you started for what is available...
