Title: Clearwater Steelhead
Post by: king on October 26, 2010, 05:01:51 PM
Anyone fish the Clearwater near Orofino? GranI'm a student here at WSU and deer/elk season is about over so I'm looking to hit the steelhead somewhere.

hit the North Fork of the Clearwater.  Almost anywhere below the dam is a good spot to try.  Just find other people.

Clearwater was really good before temps began to drop. Still plenty of fish and the fishign should be good throughout the winter. Fish from the bank on hte north fork and downstream towards Peck. If you have access to a boat, bottom bounce eggs near the Pink House hole.

Another great spot from Pullman would be the Grand Ronde. Excellent fishery with tons of fish. Hardly any size to them though. A lot of 3-6 lbers. Good luck.
